The mechanism
What your cotton bud doesn't show you.
You pull the bud out. There's wax on it. So naturally you think: good, I got it out.
But a cotton bud is a plug. Some wax sticks to the cotton and comes out. The rest gets pressed further in, past the narrow bend where you can't see it and can't reach it.
You only ever see the half that came out.
Your ear already moves old wax outward on its own. A cotton bud works against that direction. Steadyn works with it: the ridged tip meets the wax that has already travelled to the opening, catches it, and brings it out.

Just inside the opening. Never force it, never chase it deeper.

Warm water until the tip feels tacky again.
Each stick is good for about thirty days of daily use. A tray of sixteen lasts a household most of the year.
What Steadyn is not.
Steadyn is for the loose, visible wax that has already reached the opening of your ear.
It is not a treatment. If your ear is blocked, painful, ringing, discharging, or your hearing has changed, that is a job for a clinician, not for us. Don't use Steadyn on a perforated eardrum, on grommets, or after ear surgery.

Does it go inside the ear canal?
Only just inside the opening. The tip is designed to stop there — that's the point. Nothing about Steadyn asks you to go deeper.
How is it different from a cotton bud?
A cotton bud is soft and wide, so it acts like a plunger. Steadyn's tip is ridged and narrow: wax catches in the grooves on the way out instead of being pressed forward.
How long does one stick last?
About thirty days of daily use. Rinse under warm water after each use — when the tip stops feeling tacky, that stick is done.
Is it safe for children?
Adults only, and not for anyone who can't sit still. Children's ear canals are shorter and we'd rather you didn't.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Thirty days from delivery, unused trays and complete, and we refund the product in full.
